Sevenoaks RFC

History

Sevenoaks RFC was founded in 1925 and played its first match against Lensbury (and won!) in October 1925. The Club used Hitchen Hatch Lane as its first pitch and opened its first clubhouse on a piece of land between Knole Paddock and Raleys Field in 1952.

1. Founded in 1925
2. 1st XV now plays in London&SE div 2 SE (Level 7); club has three other senior teams including vets
3. Won Kent Cup in 1997, beating Canterbury 28-24

4. Club stalwart Robert Horner served as RFU President for 2003-04 - including the World Cup victory!

5. Club has produced three full England internationals - David Flatman, Andy Titterrell and Tom May - and several other top-flight players including Martin Purdy (Bath, Wasps, London Welsh), James Short (Saracens, Wasps, London Irish), Barry Irving (Glasgow, Catania, Parma) and Tristan Roberts (Bristol, Gloucester, London Welsh)

6. Vibrant 500-strong junior section has produced more than 25 age-group internationals and won multiple county, regional and national competitions
