E4R Club Partner Clash - Cumnock RFC Vs Annan RFC

January 22, 2016

Venue: Broomfield House

Kick Off: 2pm

Last 5 Games:

Cumnock RFC: WWWLW

This weekend sees yet another clash between E4R Club Partners, and this time it’s a double whammy!

Cumnock play host to two Annan teams this Saturday, as both the 1st and 2nd XV’s are set to battle it out at Broomfield House! The match has great significance, both in the sense that only 2 places and 4 points separate the two 1st XV’s in the BT West Division 2, whilst both club’s seldom struggle to field a 2nd team, so it’s great for them to have been able to organise a fixture.

This fixture is a rather tough one to call, as both clubs have  produced quality performances when they’ve been able to play! We all know how troublesome this winter’s weather has been for rugby clubs across the UK, and Cumnock and Annan are no exceptions! Both have had multiple fixtures cancelled in the last couple of months and so will be pleased just to get out on the pitch.

Questions likely to be asked are 'will Cumnock RFC make the most of their home advantage?' Or perhaps, 'will Annan use their superior league position to intimidate their opposition?' One thing's for sure, recent form sort of goes out of the window as neither side have been able to string a decent number of performances together as a result of adverse conditions. It may come down to who wants it more on the day, which always makes for fantastic viewing!

Best of luck to Annan RFC and Cumnock RFC’s 1st's and 2nd's, and fingers crossed they get to play!

Due to Annan taking two team buses, the club have decided to make a day of it and will be heading up to support Glasgow Warriors against Racing Metro in their Champions Cup fixture. Great to see grassroots rugby heading out in full force to support the professional game!
