Esher RFC Vs Blackheath RFC

April 22, 2016

Venue: Molesey Road

Form:

Esher RFC: LWLWL

Blackheath FC: LLWWD

It’s been a fairly steady season for both teams involved in this fixture – Blackheath find themselves sitting in 4th spot (only one point off 3rd) in National League One, whilst our Club Partner, Esher RFC, are positioned nicely in 6th.

It’s not an easy final home match for Esher but then again no match ever is easy in this division due to the extremely high quality teams and players that compete within the league.

As form goes, neither side are enduring a particularly purple patch, with both teams recording wins but also suffering defeats within their last 5 fixtures. Richmond are well clear at the top so this match is likely to revolver predominantly around pride…yet no one likes a bad finish to the season so we imagine the quality  will still be high, as well as the stakes.

Esher RFC

Our Club Partners have enjoyed a solid season and will likely finish within the league’s top 6 – an extremely respectable performance that provides great foundations for the Club to build on for next season – especially considering they finished 10th the previous year. Inevitably, they are seeking promotion back to the Championship after being relegated in 2012-13 however, they will know as well as any team how tough a league this is to escape – yet they have done it before and we believe before too long they’ll do it again!

Blackheath F.C.

Having finished 6th last year, Blackheath are enjoying an improved this season that sees them sitting in 4th, just one point behind 3rd place. Like Esher, their eyes will be on promotion, however this year their just going to miss out on achieving that goal. Blackheath have built a solid platform on which to build for next season and we wouldn’t be surprised if they gained promotion to the Championship for the first time next season.

National League often produces top drawer rugby so if you head down you're bound to witness a great match!

Best of luck to both teams but of course we're cheering on our Club Partner, Esher RFC.
