A successful day in the Forest for Wimbledon Women

October 10, 2018

After a Saturday of pouring rain and freezing winds, the Women's XV were slightly apprehensive about their romp to the Forest of Dean, their second of four long coach journeys this season! We awoke on Sunday to glorious sunshine and the adventure began. Arriving in good time at the ground, our, now regular, guest coach and Irish international, Leah Lyons, joined the team. After an intense and effective warm up, the team was raring to go. Before kick off, Leah asked for three things - Accuracy, Assertiveness and Speed. From the first whistle to the last, those principles were in the forefront of the players' minds and the tries that were scored came from phases of play where each of those were effective. With a plethora of tries from both forwards and backs, this really was a "team effort". Next week, the Women are away to Guildford - do come down and support.

Huge thanks must go to Intrepid Photography for the amazing photos. We hope you’ll come back soon! Congratulations to try scorers Ange, Carter (x2), Cat, Gutti, Kirsty, laura (x2), Leah and Lucy. Congratulations to Gutti who also scored 5 conversations.
