It looked as if it was going to be a good start to the season last weekend as the 1st XV travelled to Wasps FC.
Two well taken tries in the first quarter of the game by debutante James Grosvenor and Andre Thomas-Richards were added to with one conversion which was slotted by David KNill Unfortunately, due to a number of injuires we then sadly faded as a side during th game.
Wasps took the initiative with a pushover try in the last few minutes of the first half and they then ran in a further four tries in the second half ensuring that they finished with a try bonus point.
To the players' credit, the team kept their heads up and put in a massive defensive effort. With only twenty minutes to go, we were reduced to fourteen men through another injury and then lost Andre Thomas-Richards to a yellow card.
Next Saturday see our first home fixture as we welcome League new boys Thamesians to the Reeves. Get down and support the team if you are around and can come down.
